Rugby Legend Takes Health Messages Forward
A meeting of 'healthy body healthy business' minds got together
yesterday (1st June) to learn strategies on how the healthy and
wellbeing of their staff can boost profits.
Guest speaker rugby star Robert Jones MBE shared his
own experience about how he has made the transition from pitch to
boardroom and how staying fit and healthy can benefit his 'day job'
as Director of a successful insurance brokers.
More than 80 people attended the business breakfast
organised by Health Challenge Neath Port Talbot at Margam
Organgery. Welsh Government Small Workplace awards were also handed
out to 4 local companies.
The free event was open to any local business and was
also attended by Neath Port Talbot Council Leader and Health
Champion Ali Thomas and Chair of ABMU and fellow Champion Win
Speaking after the event, Councillor Thomas said, "We
had a great turnout, and I'm sure this is the start of us working
more closely with businesses to help them improve their own health
and wellbeing as well as that of their staff
Win Griffiths added, "This event gave companies the
opportunity to network with like minded businesses and learn
strategies to improve the efficiency of their organisation through
reduced absenteeism due to ill health and the benefits of a boosted
morale from a healthy workforce."
