Aberavon Beach Hotel Scoops Prestigous International Award

Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel in Swansea Bay, Port Talbot has achieved the top Best Western International Quality Award for Standards and service in its annual inspection by the Best Western group for the second consecutive year!

The award is only given to a few select hotels throughout the world that reach an exemplary level of quality. In fact, only 20 British hotels have achieved such an accolade in 2011. The Aberavon Beach remains the only Hotel in Wales to achieve this highly prized accolade.

To be in with a chance of winning the award every Best Western hotel is rigorously assessed using strict criteria.  This includes the cleanliness and quality of both the guest rooms and public areas and also the standards of the restaurants and leisure facilities. All the hotels must achieve at least minimum standards to remain part of the group, however some hotels go on to achieve Global recognition with an ‘International Quality’ award for their excellence in this area.

Stuart McManus, General Manager said “It has been a great few years for the hotel and the awards just keep coming. Hotel of the year in 2009 and now the international quality award in 2010 & again in 2011 is a massive achievement. The staff have worked tremendously hard to ensure that we deliver consistent high standards, and to win these awards is demonstration to that effort” he added “ Swansea Bay is such a great place for both business and tourism and we want to highlight the quality of hospitality that is available in this area”.

Keith Pope, director of Best Western said: “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff that the Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel has achieved such a great award. As Best Western are all independently owned hotels, it is a great honour for them to be recognised internationally and this award is an international seal of approval.”

On November 25th at the Swansea Bay Regional Business Awards, there could be another award to add to the trophy cabinet, as Stuart McManus has been short listed in the Leadership & Management in Business Category. The Awards Ceremony at The Brangwyn Hall, Swansea are open to any company located in Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Carmarthenshire and will be hosted by TV presenter, journalist and producer Jonathan Hill who currently co-presents Wales Tonight and ITV Wales Regional News.
