2011 Award Winners are Announced

LBS Builders Merchants Ltd. took the coveted Swansea Bay Business of the Year 2011, after scooping the award for Leadership & Management at the black-tie ceremony hosted by ITV Wales news presenter Jonathan Hill.

The awards, in their 3rd year, received a record number of entries in 2011, and more than 320 people turned out to the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea to see the winners of the 6 categories announced.

The awards sponsored by JCP Solicitors; celebrates the success, innovation and excellence of the business community across Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Carmarthenshire.

Swansea Bay Business Awards 2011 Winners


Founded in 1931, LBS Builders Merchants has grown to become the leading independent builders’ merchants within South West Wales, supplying the most comprehensive range of building materials to the construction sector.

With its head office in Llandeilo, the group has opened five new branches in Neath, Cardigan, Pembroke Dock and two in Swansea over the past five years and now includes thirteen merchant branches, a kitchen and bathroom supplier and a specialist roofing company.

LBS have become synonymous with the building supplies industry in the region and continue to achieve sales growth in a difficult sector. Employing over 190 staff the group is also consistently being recognised for excellence by winning numerous awards.

Despite the challenging business conditions, Managing Director, Mark Davies continuously encourages staff to manage their area of the business and to think creatively and is always willing to adapt his approach to the constantly changing challenges of an evolving market.
