Darren Arekion, managing director at Galliford Try, said: "This development represents a tremendous opportunity for our business.

"Creating opportunities for local people and local businesses is a key part of the way we work and we look forward to working with the local supply chain to create the top class facilities that Swansea University’s students deserve."

The new Swansea University Bay Campus is part of St Modwen's 3,500-acre regeneration programme across South Wales. The campus will welcome its first cohort of students in September next year.
